Celebrate Christmas Downtown
Main Street Murfreesboro presents the annual Celebrate Christmas Downtown event featuring the official Rutherford County Christmas tree lighting at the historic 1859 Rutherford County Courthouse. The evening includes entertainment, caroling, free children's activities and crafts, complimentary hot cocoa, and carriage rides (available for purchase). Stage performances feature School of Rock bands, elementary school choirs, and dance performances. Santa lights the Christmas tree at 6:30 PM. Free photos with Santa are available inside the courthouse from 7:30-8:30 PM. A window decorating contest runs December 1-12 with voting available downtown. Public Square parking closes at 5:00 PM; guests should use Civic Plaza or County Judicial parking garages.
