About

The Tennessee Philharmonic Orchestra (TPO) is a nonprofit orchestral ensemble based in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, founded in 1981 by Dr. Laurence Harvin. Originally known as the University Community Ensemble, the TPO has grown over more than 40 years into a professional-caliber orchestra serving the entire Middle Tennessee region. The orchestra performs classical, contemporary, and pop orchestral pieces, with mainstage concerts held at Belle Aire Baptist Church in Murfreesboro. The TPO also operates education and outreach programs reaching students from 2nd through 12th grade.
