Holden Hardware is a family-owned hardware store at 108 South Maple Street, on the west side of the Public Square in downtown Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Brothers Rollie and Horace Holden opened it in the late 1940s in a remodeled building that had been the Charlie Jetton grocery. It is a Do it Best member store that serves both homeowners and the trades, with full lines for commercial and industrial construction, and it opens at 6 a.m. on weekdays.

History of Holden Hardware

According to Main Street Murfreesboro's award write-up, the store opened in the remodeled building on the west side of the Square that had housed the Charlie Jetton grocery, with Rollie Holden and Horace Holden as co-owners. Rollie Holden Sr. became the sole owner after his brother died in 1954.

Rollie Holden Jr. started working in the store at 14 and joined full time after graduating from MTSU. The write-up also notes that “Holden purchased the hardware store January 1, 1996.” It describes Holden Hardware as “a one-stop, service-oriented company” carrying full lines for commercial and industrial construction.
