Smyrna, La Vergne, Eagleville Mayor and Council Races: Nov. 3 Ballot

Smyrna, La Vergne and Eagleville each have a mayor's race and council seats on the Nov. 3, 2026 ballot, according to the Rutherford County Election Commission's municipal candidate list and town sample ballots. Smyrna is the only one of the three where both the mayor and council races have more candidates than seats.

Every candidate in the three towns appears on the sample ballots as an independent candidate, and each race also includes write-in lines. The candidates below are listed as they appear on the Election Commission's sample ballots.

Who is running for Smyrna mayor?

The Town of Smyrna sample ballot lists two candidates for mayor, with voters choosing one:

  • Joanne Delk
  • Mary Esther Reed

Who is running for Smyrna Town Council?

Smyrna voters will choose three council members from four candidates:

  • Marc Adkins
  • H.G. Cole
  • Matt Ford
  • Vanessa Haley

The ballot instructs voters to "vote for three," so a Smyrna voter may choose up to three of the four names. Readers new to the town can find more on Smyrna and downtown Smyrna in OnlyInMurfreesboro's guides.

Who is running for La Vergne mayor and aldermen?

The City of La Vergne sample ballot lists two candidates for mayor, with voters choosing one:

  • Jason Cole
  • James S. Miles

For alderman, La Vergne voters will choose two, and two candidates qualified:

  • Carol Haas
  • Kara Hobbs

The mayor's race is contested, while the alderman race has the same number of candidates as seats. More about the city is in the La Vergne guide.

Who is running in Eagleville?

The City of Eagleville sample ballot lists one candidate for mayor:

  • Chad Leeman

Eagleville voters will choose three council members, and three candidates qualified:

  • Craig Campbell
  • Brandon S. Emamalie
  • Shawn Futrell

Neither Eagleville race has more qualified candidates than seats, though write-in lines appear on the ballot for both. OnlyInMurfreesboro's Eagleville guide has more on the town.

Who votes in these races?

The municipal contests appear only on the ballots of voters registered inside each town. A Murfreesboro voter will not see the Smyrna, La Vergne or Eagleville races. Everyone in the county will see the statewide and federal races, along with three proposed amendments to the Tennessee Constitution.

The Rutherford County Election Commission posts separate sample ballots for Smyrna, La Vergne and Eagleville, along with the general November sample ballot, on its election page.

When and where can Smyrna and La Vergne voters vote early?

The Election Commission lists early voting from Wednesday, Oct. 14, through Thursday, Oct. 29, 2026. Any registered county voter can use any of the nine early voting sites, and three are in the towns with municipal races:

  • Smyrna Town Hall, 315 S. Lowry St., Smyrna
  • Christ Life Church Smyrna, 1004 Hazelwood Drive, Smyrna
  • La Vergne Multi-Purpose Building, 5093 Murfreesboro Road, La Vergne

Those sites are open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday. The Election Commission says no reason is needed to vote early, and voters need a state or federal government-issued photo ID. Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 3.

The full list of sites, hours and ID rules is in the Rutherford County early voting guide. The Election Commission's next scheduled meeting is Oct. 12 at 5 p.m. at the Election Office, 1 S. Public Square, Suite 103, on the Public Square in Murfreesboro.
