Monopoly is coming back to McDonald's, including the restaurants across Murfreesboro and Rutherford County. Starting Tuesday, October 6, 2026, eligible menu items come with a peel-off Monopoly game piece, and this year all of the play happens in the McDonald's app.
"MONOPOLY at McDonald's is more than just a game. It's about childhood memories, family moments and surprises that make our day," said Alyssa Buetikofer, senior vice president and chief marketing and customer experience officer of McDonald's USA, in the company's Sept. 22 announcement. "This year, we're giving fans even more reasons to play with bigger prizes, more rewards, and a simpler digital game experience that includes the classic peel."

How to Play McDonald's Monopoly in 2026
McDonald's lays out three steps:
1. Register: Download the McDonald's app, opt in to MyMcDonald's Rewards and pre-register for the game. Players must be 18 or older. 2. Order and peel: From Oct. 6, order eligible items and peel the game piece sticker on the packaging. Eligible items span breakfast, lunch and dinner, including the Quarter Pounder with Cheese, Egg McMuffin, large fries and large hot and cold drinks. 3. Scan: Scan the piece in the app to redeem prizes, collect properties or play the Chance Card Game.
Bonus play: Ordering eligible items in the app, or showing your Rewards code at the kiosk, counter or drive-thru, earns an extra Chance Card play through Nov. 1. McDonald's says this only works if you register for the game before ordering.
Players can enter up to eight game piece codes and eight Chance Card plays per day.
The Four Ways to Win
- Instant-win food: free items like the McChicken, Snack Wrap, McGriddles, shakes, smoothies and small fries.
- Instant-win Rewards points: 1,500 to 7,000 MyMcDonald's Rewards points.
- Collect to Win: collect a winning set of property pieces for prizes such as a Carnival cruise vacation, a VIP trip to Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex, a 2027 Jeep Cherokee or a choice of three Polaris vehicles.
- Chance Card Game: gift cards from brands like Grubhub, Ulta Beauty and Uber Eats, up to $50,000 toward a home down payment, $50,000 toward college debt, McDonald's for a Year ($1,040 gift card) and cash prizes from $10,000 to $1 million.

Can You Play Without Buying Anything?
Yes. No purchase is necessary. McDonald's accepts mailed requests for a free game piece from Sept. 22 through Nov. 2, 2026 (for receipt). Mail a self-addressed, stamped envelope inside a postage-paid envelope to: Monopoly Game at McDonald's Game Piece Request, PO Box 4006, Dept. S9851, Grand Rapids, MN 55730-4006.
